**SCENE START**

**1. THE HEAVY KNOCK**
The silence of the Glass Citadel is shattered by three slow, booming thuds against the iron-bound oak doors. RANA (16) flinches, retreating into the shadows of the throne room. MEERA, now dressed in the elaborate, flowing robes of the Queen, sits tall on her pedestal. JIYA stands at her side, her face a mask of cold indifference.

**2. THE PRIEST ENTERS**
The doors groan open. THE PRIEST walks in, his robes dusty from the road, his eyes sharp and searching. He stops at the base of the dais and bows, though his eyes remain fixed on Meera.
> **PRIEST:** "The City Council grows restless, Queen Meera. The people line the streets asking the same question: When will the Undefeated Lord, the Great Rana, return from the mountain? The borders are weak without his steel."

**3. THE QUEEN’S DECEPTION**
Meera rests her chin on her hand, looking down at the Priest with a calm, practiced sorrow.
> **MEERA:** "I do not know when—or if—he will return, Priest. The last time we spoke, he confessed he was tired of the cycle of blood. He sought a spiritual path to peace, one that does not involve the sword. He has vanished into the higher peaks to find his soul."

**4. THE DISCOVERY**
The Priest’s eyes shift. He notices a movement behind Meera’s throne. RANA peeps out, his youthful face full of curiosity and fear. He quickly ducks back, hiding behind the folds of Meera's heavy velvet skirts.
> **PRIEST:** (Narrowing his eyes) "And who is this child who hides in the shadow of the throne? He carries himself with a familiar grace."

**5. THE NEW LINEAGE**
Meera reaches back, her hand finding Rana’s head and pulling him gently forward so he is forced to stand beside her. Rana grips her sleeve tightly, looking at the floor.
> **MEERA:** "This is Rana... a cousin of the Lord you seek. A branch of the same bloodline."
> **PRIEST:** (Stepping closer, stunned) "It is uncanny. He looks exactly like the Lord Rana did when he first took his vows of knighthood. The eyes, the brow... it is as if time itself folded backward."

**6. THE SUCCESSOR**
The Priest reaches out as if to touch the boy’s chin, but Jiya steps forward, blocking his path with a sharp look. Meera strokes Rana’s hair, her voice ringing with authority.
> **MEERA:** "Before the Great Rana departed for his peace, he declared this boy the successor of the Kingdom. Should the Lord not return, the boy shall inherit the crown. But as you see, he is shy. The 'fall' he suffered has made him wary of strangers."

**7. THE FEARFUL HEIR**
The Priest stares at the boy, a flicker of suspicion crossing his face. Rana, overwhelmed by the Priest's intense gaze, hides his face in Meera’s shoulder. 
> **RANA:** (Whispering) "Sister... make him go away. I don't like his eyes."
> **MEERA:** (Smiling at the Priest) "You have your answer, Priest. Tell the Council the bloodline is secure, even if the man is gone. Now, leave us to our family."

**SCENE END**
